About Kyoohoo

Showcasing Kyoto’s Timeless Craftsmanship Globally

Kyoohoo (Kyo-fu) is a professional consortium founded in 2000 with the purpose of promoting and supplying Kyoto-made traditional handcrafts across the globe.
Kyoto, the heart of Japanese culture and history,has been keeping its position as the center of Japanese traditional arts and crafts over 1200 years.It is a city where the craftsmen and artisans gather from the whole countries. These craftsmen have been maintaining their traditional skills for the centuries and continue to produce wares in the traditional manner still now. Just as we have done for generations in Japan, through our new organizations Kyoohoo, our present goal is to provide a various rage of customers with access to the elegant and sophisticated products of these craftsmen. Kyoohoo, an association formed by many of these traditional artisans, hopes you will enjoy the selection of fine goods that we offer.
Kyoto has long been established as a leading producer of high quality products in the traditional crafts world. Now we would like you to feel the beauty of our culture and the refined quality of its products.

Activities

Kyoohoo’s main activities are as follows

1. Joint participation in overseas and domestic exhibitions and events

Since 2001, Kyoohoo has jointly participated in various exhibitions around the world.

2. Joint product development

Kyoohoo is also engaged in joint development of new products.

3. Regular meetings

Kyoohoo holds regular meetings (about once a month). In addition to topics related to common projects, individual members actively report and provide information.

4. Study Sessions

Study sessions and information sharing meetings are held as needed, inviting outside experts and companies, as well as people working overseas.
